Recycling Process?

Recycling Process

With the environment in mind, Ayam Brand™ believes that all products must be used in the process to limit waste, therefore we are involved in a long-term production program to reduce waste and carbon footprint.

For our coconut milk: our factory processes the whole coconut (water, oil, milk and cream) and the only waste is the coconut shell. Coconut shells will be collected and used for burners to replace ordinary fossil energy, such as oil or gas.

For our fish factory, we are working on a special machine that will process rejections to produce Hydrolyzed Fish Protein for the pharmaceutical industry.

We use simple packaging materials such as cans or paper, which are 100% recyclable.

Should I Be Worried About Mercury Levels In Tuna?

Should I Worry About Mercury Levels In Tuna

Large marine predators such as sharks, whales, swordfish and some large tuna species may contain traces of mercury as mercury concentrations increase at the top of the food chain.

Ayam Brand™ only selects small fish from two species of tuna: skipjack and small yellowfin.

Because the tuna chosen are relatively small, they are naturally unlikely to have the mercury levels of large predatory fish.

Regardless of the choice of tuna, Ayam Brand™, for the peace of mind of tuna consumers, submits every batch of tuna produced for mercury analysis to an independent laboratory.

Regardless of the choice of tuna, Ayam Brand™ submits every tuna produced for mercury analysis to an independent laboratory. This is done for the peace of mind of consumers.

Ayam Brand™ ensures that its tuna production complies with the strictest food safety regulations in force.

Monosodium glutamate is a flavor enhancer to balance, blend and round out flavors. You can find it in food addicting E621. But if the recipe is delicious and the ingredients are fresh, what's the point of adding MSG? Ayam Brand™ canned food is guaranteed no added MSG to bring you only the best of recipes.

About Canned Food?

Ayam Brand™ BPA Free?

Ayam Brand™ is BPA Free

Ayam Brand™ complies with the most stringent regulations in the world which include BPA and all Ayam Brand™ products are absolutely safe for consumption.

Most cans come with a coating to protect food from contact with the metal used in the can.

The world's most stringent regulations (EU Regulation 2014/19/EC) have stipulated that canned foods with a BPA specific migration limit (SML) of up to 0,6 ppm or (mg/kg) the food is completely safe for consumption.

Our independent laboratory analysis has shown that for most of the Ayam Brand™ reference products there is no migration of BPA into food even after the can's expiry date.

Certain products with a more acidic food content may show some migration of BPA, but this is always analyzed under strict limits 0,6 ppm.

Ayam Brand™ switches ALL of its canned products to BPA FREE cans.

Ayam Brand™ made a decision at the beginning of the year 2012 to switch all of its products to cans with coatings that do not contain BPA or similar component groups such as BPF, BPS, etc. Ayam Brand™ sets the bar higher in this regard than consumer expectations.

However, at the time the decision was made, alternative BPA-FREE coatings were not available. Ayam Brand™ took it upon themselves to extensively test alternative coatings with Real Time Aging analysis to ensure they are completely safe. It took several years for the can industry to formulate new coatings and for Ayam Brand™ to test them.

Ayam Brand™ is gradually transitioning to cans with BPA-FREE coatings, as soon as tests and analyzes prove that the new coating is safe for each product category.

Do Canned Foods Have to Be Cooked Again?

Do Canned Foods Have to Be Cooked Again

Canned products are cooked in cans as part of the canning process. This means that they are always fully cooked in the sealed can and can be eaten straight from the can with no need for further cooking. However, you can warm it up or use it as an ingredient in your favorite recipes.

How to Store Canned Food?

How to Store Canned Food

Unopened canned produce should be stored in a cool, dry place where they can last up to three years in your pantry unless the "best before" date says sooner.

Use a clean, rust-free can opener, or find a can that can pull out, and clean the top of the can before opening.

Do not store food in open cans in the refrigerator, instead, transfer unused contents to a covered storage container and refrigerate immediately for up to four days.

Why Are There No Preservatives in Canned Food?

Why Are There No Preservatives In Canned Foods

Cans are a great way to preserve the texture, presentation, and taste of processed foods for a long time, without adding preservatives.

The process of canning using sterilization was invented by a French cook in 1810 to preserve food in such a stable way that it could be stored and shipped abroad all year round.

The aspirated cans are then sealed in an airtight condition and go through a controlled, high temperature heating process. The heating process kills bacteria and preserves food. Our products can be consumed safely without the help of preservatives.
